Run, Run, Lagos!!

The just concluded Lagos state annual marathon, has shown once again the incompetent ability of Nigerians in sports and also in a positive way our love for sports.
Many Lagosians came out en mass to run but like last year the best runners won. In as much as this brings joy, development, unity in Lagos, we want the Lagos state government to encourage our sport activities more by providing the necessary amenities and instructors so that Lagosians will compete favorably. We should have intrastate marathon competitions  for competitors all round the year to prepare for this annual Marathon. This will encourage Lagosian to get fully involved in sports  and see it as a means of livelihood. Lagos has always set the pace for others to follow, so we employ our Governor to go all out to see that our own people are ready the next time, I am sure we will not disappoint.
Please comment  and share so that we can get this thought to relevant authorities .

Nigerian wonder/wickedness

The first time I heard that some people embezzled money meant to pay pensioners, I thought to myself this is unbelievable because one cannot deliberately put his/ her hand in a burning fire. If you know that someday you will end up in a position of need, why treat the needy badly.
When I thought that I have heard the worst , another wickedness on the face of the earth. People now steal from the Internally displaced persons (IDP) in Borno., People who lost their loved ones, their homes, their hopes and who needs our love. The Bags of rice  given to them could not be accounted for, N5billion Naira IDP fund grew wings and flew away. Some claim, that 270 million Naira was used to cut some grasses.
This is a case of the rich getting richer and the poor should suffer.
The Nigerian government should make sure that every kobo spent would be accounted for and if embezzled, those responsible should face justice

Another thing that baffles me, is the rate of begging in Nigeria, The weak, the strong, the disabled, the enabled, the young, the old, the sick and the healthy.  If you are capable, healthy and strong and your occupation is to beg, I think you can succeed in anything you put your mind to. The annoying situation is when the beggar is angry that you did not give him/her the amount of money expected.
Another group of people are those who rent babies to beg on the streets, you expose these infants to diseases and other physical harm.
The one I cannot understand, are those who accidentally/deliberately step in front of a moving vehicle and claim that you have hit them and since they are the bread winners of their homes, they are hurt and cannot go about their businesses, you should help them take care of their homes until they are strong. They call you at every minute of the day to tell you that there is no food in the house and that they are in great pain.
The most horrific situations are those times we take the law into our hands like burning people on the streets, killing people in their farms because we are looking for our cow.
A lot has to be done to this nation and our laws has to be enforced, our security men should live up to expectation. Our parents should train their children well, the job is not for teachers or peers  alone to do.

This change begins with you !!!

Wash n go on 4c hair

I have been of the opinion that wash and go is not for 4c hair, the reason being that 4c hair is always very dry, and living in an environment where the temperature could go as hot as 30-39 degrees Celsius, one had to be very careful.  Well I decided to experiment, I took my ecostyler gel, my mixture of coconut oil , olive oil and went to work.
I wet my hair, applied the coconut and olive oil then worked on my strands with the gel. I was so generous with the gel . The truth is, my hair takes a very long time to dry, so I was confused on how to sleep for the  night since I applied it late in the evening. When I woke up the next morning, my hair was still wet, but I was determined to rock a wash and go. I left my house with a wet hair hoping that it will get dry but that was not the case.At 9 that morning I still had wet hair, the white colour of gel on some parts of my  hair was very embarrassing. I was forced to put my hair into a bun until 4 o'clock in the evening when I got home.
The next day, my hair was dangerously dry( pardon my English),and felt like it was going to break any minute. It felt like dry leaf.
I went into the bathroom and washed the gel off with shampoo and conditioner, but my hair felt like it still need time to recover from the gel.  I may not have gotten this wash and go thing right but I will not try it again in a very very long time.
Have you tried wash and go on 4c hair please let me know how it turned out.

EGG FOR HAIR TREATMENT

I have heard that egg is good for the hair,so I did some research and tried it out today.
I used one egg ,2 tablespoon of olive oil, and 2 tablespoon of honey. I covered my hair with a shower cap and washed it off after 1hour.  My previous experiment with egg and mayonnaise, left my hair brittle. I decided to leave egg out of my hair equation for a very long time.
Today I got a different result, my hair felt soft that I could not help but come and share it with you.
I think I will include it in my regimen, once every month I will do the egg treatment but every other wash day will be onion and honey treatment.
Have you tried this, please let me know your experience

Tips to a healthy hair

At this period in Nigeria,we experience the Harmattan, dryness of the body, dusty environment leading to cough, catarrh, conjunctivitis and so many other air born diseases.  Many people experience excessive hair shedding due to dryness of the hair and also dryness of the scalp causing white flakes on the scalp.
A lot of effort should go into taking care of our hair during this time;
  • Drinking plenty of water, the importance of water cannot be over emphasize, if you are living in a country like Nigeria, the weather is so hot that sometimes it might fry an egg. In other to stop the dryness of the skin and scalp, a lot of water should be taken.
  • Regular washing of the hair at least weekly will go a long way to ensure your hair and scalp is clean.  Regular sweating and  dusty environment could cause itchiness of  the scalp.
  • Use of moisturizers
  • Wearing of scarves and caps ;This will go a long way to hide your hair from direct sunlight and dust.
  • Low manipulation of the Hair; Type 4 hair is naturally coily/curly and dry, low manipulation is important to reduce breakage.
I am sure with these tips we can rock a healthy hair this period and Merry Christmas to everyone as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
